I haven't posted in a few days because life got in the way. First it was family, then it was work, then it was family again - with a little bit of emotional exhaustion thrown in for good measure.
Then we picked the kids up from school on Friday and hit the open road for North Carolina - which, frankly was better in theory than it has been in reality. It's been a good vacation with lots of sleep, some exploration and hopefully, tomorrow, some sun.
I think we've determined that Wilmington, NC will not be our new home. It's fabulous here but we haven't fallen in love.
And yesterday's events in Boston have me itching to get home. I'm sorry that I wasn't there today to do something.
My family and I and everyone we know are ok.
We will be headed home in a day or so and I'll be back to posting.
Such a sad day for your home. I am glad you're OK. Thinking of everyone in Boston from all the way over in Australia.

I was thinking about you all afternoon yesterday, knowing you were entirely unlikely to be anywhere near the affected area . . . yet, knowing you heart was right there. Glad to hear that you & yours are doing well . . . and your home is made of resilient stock.

Glad everyone around you is ok.
I live in NC and one of my kids attend UNC Wilmington. It's one of our favorite cities, but it's not for everyone.
Welcome back!

I posted with the same title, kind of funny. So glad you all are okay. Boston Marathon 2015 has my name written all over it. Want to join me?

Boston over NC? It's probably the beans

Told you so. In all seriousness, there is no place like Boston. I have travelled many places and few can rival the spirit of this city and state. The events of this past week have reminded me of why we choose to live here.
My girlfriend from high school lost her leg and suffered many other injuries. The outpouring of love and support has been astounding. She has tremendous spirit and an extraordinary love of this city. Hopefully, in time, she will heal physically and emotionally. Given her injuries, it will be a long road.
