When I met my husband he was living with a guy named "Pete."
Pete's had some challenges over the years that I've known him but he's a great guy and is in a great place right now and we couldn't be happier for him.
He called today and told my husband the following story and now I'm waiting for one of you to call and ask me something AWESOME.
I have Google powered up and ready to go. But I'm not stoned. CRAP. I wonder how important that is.
You're probably thinking, "She's NOT stoned? Because it really reads like she IS stoned...."
It will all be clear in a minute.
So Pete called today and told my husband that last night he had dinner with a BILLIONAIRE. The guy is 40 and went to college with Pete's wife.
A few years ago the guy renounced his US citizenship in protest of our tax laws and he now lives between several houses around the world. He can only visit the US for 29 days at a time.
When Pete asked him how he came to be so successful this is the story he told...
"Pete, I was sitting at home one Friday night STONED out of my mind. My phone rang and my friend asked me, "What do you know about X?" I didn't know SHIT about it so I Googled it and it sounded pretty cool. The next day I invested some money. A year later I had a million dollars and the rest is history. But I'm a complete moron and I have no idea what I'm doing."
THOSE are the kind of friends I need.
holy. crap.
seriously. why doesn't that work when i'm drunk on vodak?

I'm guessing he didn't have to dig change out of the couch which is what my investment would have been. At least I could have been a hundredaire by now!

Damn.
Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn.
I graduated college in 2000 . . . just as the internet bubble was popping. Whenever I talk to some of my previous classmates, and compare their skill-sets to my own, I start to wonder just what might have been . . .
