This is my 8year old son's version of the tackle he made last night at football.
I tried DESPERATELY to videotape the retelling but he would have NONE of it. I even tried to videotape the floor just so I could record his voice but he heard the "beep" when I hit "record" and scolded me harshly for "videotaping his voice."
"Mom, did you see the tackle I made in the back?"
"I did! It was great!"
"I saw him (the quarterback) line up. He looked up and saw me charging at him so he thought, 'hm, where is the snap, it should be here by now?' then he clapped his hands together but he did it too soon and he only got the point of the ball and it went flying out of his hands and then I tackled him."
My son was so proud of himself and so cute in his 3rd person interpretation of the other quarterback's that I didn't have the heart to tell him that he was apparently off-sides during the play AND guilty of roughing the quarterback.
I love football.
I can imagine the excitement in his voice.

I absolutely love the excitement of a child's voice. I can imagine him sounding SO proud of himself. :) As well he should be! Thanks for sharing...love that!
