My husband has these friends that he'd fallen out of touch with. When I got my new job I had to travel to their new homecity and I reconnected with them. But getting my husband to call them was like pulling teeth.
And then one of them moved back to the northeast to get married. And, at the last minute, he invited us to the wedding.
And because of the short notice, I couldn't go. So my husband left here at 9am on Saturday morning for a noon-6 wedding. And I never saw him again.
Ok, not EXACTLY. But when I called him at 6pm, he didn't answer. And when I called him at 8pm, he still didn't answer.
And when I texted the friend and asked her to have him call me and she said she told him to, 40 minutes passed without a call.
And then I FINALLY talked to him at 9 (because I called HER phone.) and he told me that he'd left his phone in his car and "meh, why was I calling."
I was calling so that the kids could say goodnight. "Remember the kids?"
He ended up coming home the next day around noon. I say around because I was at the beach with the kids. He was napping so he didn't join us.
Later I accused him of acting like he was 25 when he goes out. "That's not true." he objected.
Then I reminded him that he didn't have a very clear picture of how things had happened the previous night because he'd hit his head (VERY HARD) in the pool trying to do a flip into the shallow end.
I so get this. Mine used to be the same and would think that coming home at 4am the day after was the done thing!
Since then though I have told him that his balls will be chopped off by me and a blunt spoon if he dared try anything like it again - either that or I wouldn't be here when he came back
Men UUGHH - you can't always get into their heads but when you can!!

Oh men. Their heads are either between your legs or in some random pool I guess. And the balls chopping comment above mine- so graphically funny! right? :D

Oh, right. My husband tried to pull the "concussion" line on me, and sure, he had hit his head, but I knew the forgetfulness was from drinking too much. I hope you're spending the day pressing on his goose egg!
