No more spiders. I promise.
Now that that's out of the way: I wanted to let you know that I'm going to try a new format, please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Rather than post the weekly wrapup on Fridays, I'm planning to start posting it over the weekend so that I can write a new post for you on Fridays. This is because the weekly wrapup is kind of involved and sometimes by Thursday night I don't have it in me. But also because it seems like cheating to say I post every day but only have 4 posts and a wrapup.
FYI, I will NOT be posting on Monday. The 4th of July is my FAVORITE holiday BY FAR for so many reasons: First of all it celebrates FREEDOM. And, what can I say? I'm a fan. Also, the weather is GORGEOUS. I'm a beach girl and there is nothing more beautiful than Cape Cod in July. Even better, you don't have to spend the 4th with your FAMILY. Seriously? What could be better? Also, you don't have to spend 3 days cooking.
And it's perfectly ACCEPTABLE and ENCOURAGED to get drunk. Plus, you can wear skimpy clothes. And you don't have to get ANYONE a present. That's TOTALLY what Freedom is all about.
And one more reason. This is where I'll be spending it with my husband and the kids:
Beautiful. One day I'd like to celebrate 4th of July.

Cape Cod in July is my favorite! Well, actually, Cape Cod anytime is my favorite. I miss spending my summers there... Stupid working full time...

Anybody voting against an extra new Kit post per week deserves to have a stray tarantula crawl up their pant leg.
Here's hoping everybody experiences plenty of sparks, flames and explosions this weekend. Oh, yeah, the Fourth is this Sunday. Enjoy that too.

First off, Kit, I love the new Friday post format. Fridays are awesome anyway, but add a new Kit post and I'm pretty sure that's as close as us live mortals can get to Heaven.
However, I have to say, my favorite holiday is not the 4th of July. (Not that this is going to shock anyone but,) mine's Halloween. Free candy, loads of fake blood, and you get to scare the living bejesus out of your neighbors without the local mental ward being called. What's not to like about that? Oh yeah, and you can usually find the whole Halloween movie series on TV.

I just found your blog and I love, love, love it!! Consider me a fan. I love the same stuff you write about....wine, sex, memories of sex before marriage, vibrators, hubby's (most of the time) kids (again, most of the time) and just generally having a place to bitch about all the stuff that happens on this crazy world!! So count another reader in your fan club ; )

Hmm. Now that you put it like that, I think July 4th is my favorite holiday. I especially like the not having to spend it with family part. And being acceptable to get drunk. Although really, do I need an excuse? Or permission? I think not!
