Work is incredibly busy but the new company figured some stuff out and I think it's going to be a good place to be this year. Don't get me wrong, my resume is being dusted off and getting a fresh new look but there's a good chance I don't need my walkin' shoes just yet.
On the other had, I'm so busy I don't really know what day it is. I thought last Friday was Monday until I walked out of my office at 6pm. And I was actually disappointed that it was Friday because it meant that I wasn't going to be able to get anything done the following day.
I'm reluctant to become a workaholic - although that's always the lure in sales. Right now I'm having a hard time evaluating whether or not the work load will always be this killer or if it's just due to all of the changes and it will slow down in a couple of weeks. We're only a couple of weeks into a major reorg so it has to slow down. RIGHT?!?!?!
In the mean time there's a chance that I won't have as much time to devote to you. Don't look at me like that, I'm NOT breaking up with you. And even if I were it's not you, it's me.
Anyway, I spent some time this week in NYC and even though I didn't go for a run through Central Park I did take some cool photos and wanted to share them with you...
The view from my hotel... The glow in the distance is Times Square.
This is the view of my hotel minibar. This bottle is so cute I wanted to drink it. Luckily I know my limitations or I would be dead now.
This is the bar at the Legal Sea Food in Boston. The chowder was delicious!
This is Herald Square...
This is the Mexican Cantina where my cousin and I had dinner. It was FABULOUS! The guacamole was fantastic and they served it with ENORMOUS fried corn chips that probably made me gain 1 pound each.
I really am enjoying my forays into New York very much - even if I am struggling with being away from the kids 1-2 nights per week.
If you have any suggestions for cool restaurants that I should check out in the Herald Square, Hell's Kitchen or Times Square areas let me know!
Have a great weekend!
LOL - When I went to hit publish on this I suddenly realized that tomorrow is THURSDAY not Friday. Did I tell you how messed up I am? Have a great Today, a great FRIDAY AND a Great weekend! I'll be catching up on sleep and kid snuggles if you need me.
Seriously, as we were leaving the restaurant tonight at 10 there was a HUGE line of people waiting to get in. How do these people have dinner at 11 and then get up for work tomorrow? And if they DON'T go to work tomorrow, how do they have $68 to spend on a steak.
During dinner the lights went out. The #occupy protesters were across the street. If you wanted to target obscene gestures of opulence, knocking the lights out at Prime 112 is the way to go.
Also, I didn't pay for dinner. I don't think I could have afforded my Diet Coke.
Dinner was great. I work with fun people. I'm very lucky to have the job I do and I'm thankful every day that I had the balls to quit my old job and take a new one that was both terrifying and AWESOME.
I've been taking photos for the past three days for this post - normally I completely forget to take pictures because I usually forget my camera. The camera in the iphone 4s is so unbelieveable I feel like an ass for buying an expensive Canon SLR that is too big to schlep everywhere.
If you're trying to justify the iphone build in the camera to your calculation.
Without further ado... here is my week in Miami in Pictures...
This is the view from my hotel...
This is the view when I went running...
How do you enforce this?
These are a couple of dinghys pulled up for lunch...
This is the view from my office...
This is the view from my hotel during their #wineparty. (It's lame compared to mine - if I do say so myself - and not just because I was wearing a bra...)
This is the view out the balcony of my room...
This is my bed... (My 4yo was VERY concerned about where I was sleeping so I took this for her)
#wineparty tonight. I'll be back in Boston. See you there.
