Amsterdam in Pictures...

If you visited Amsterdam 20 years ago you would be surprise how much it has changed...

When I was here 20 years ago, the city was full of bars and clubs and hash houses and no one woke up before noon or went to bed before three o'clock in the morning.

Now, twenty years later, it's remarkable that the city has changed it's habits... People get up and go to work and commute.  They go home at a reasonable hour, eat dinner and go to bed.

They don't stay up all night partying and sleep all day trying to overcome the hangover.

It's amazing how the city has grown up these last 20 years!

Or maybe that's just me.

 

Jeremiah Weed

Yesterday I drove 420 miles round trip to a 2 hour meeting in Connecticut where I was allowed to say 50 words by an overeager coworker who thought he knew everything.

He even interrupted me - REPEATEDLY - to say, "She's right."

The funny thing is that he's new to the team and a good deal of what he said was incorrect.

Good times.

The best part of my day - besides treating myself to sushi for dinner (and then expensing it) was buying this shirt...

 
because sweet tea, vodka and weed on a tight t-shirt? OBVIOUSLY.

Unfortunately my town is too conservative and too cold right now for this shirt...

Fortunately I fly to Miami tomorrow.  Guess what I'll be wearing on the plane?

 

Miami in Pictures

Holy Shit Miami takes a lot out of you.

Seriously, as we were leaving the restaurant tonight at 10 there was a HUGE line of people waiting to get in.  How do these people have dinner at 11 and then get up for work tomorrow?  And if they DON'T go to work tomorrow, how do they have $68 to spend on a steak.

During dinner the lights went out.  The #occupy protesters were across the street.  If you wanted to target obscene gestures of opulence, knocking the lights out at Prime 112 is the way to go.

Also, I didn't pay for dinner.  I don't think I could have afforded my Diet Coke.

Dinner was great.  I work with fun people.  I'm very lucky to have the job I do and I'm thankful every day that I had the balls to quit my old job and take a new one that was both terrifying and AWESOME.

I've been taking photos for the past three days for this post - normally I completely forget to take pictures because I usually forget my camera.  The camera in the iphone 4s is so unbelieveable I feel like an ass for buying an expensive Canon SLR that is too big to schlep everywhere.

If you're trying to justify the iphone build in the camera to your calculation.

Wordless Wednesday (Yeah right, when have you ever known me to shut up?)

I hate foliage.  I don't give a damn about the colors - I just loathe the raking and the impending cold.

But yesterday on my run I saw this leaf on the road and was past it before I thought, "I bet there are some fuckers readers who like the damn changing of the leaves." and I went back and picked it up.

Then I left it on my desk for the whole day because I work for a living dammit - it's not like I can just sit around all day taking pictures for my blog - like SOME people (if you know who I mean.)

But luckily for you my daughter saw it on my desk and said, "That's beautiful."

And maybe, just maybe, it is.

I live on the East Coast.  I spent Thursday thru Monday in the Atlantic Ocean.  It was awesome.

 

On Wednesday I flew to California.  I took this picture at dinner (with my phone.)

I have to fly home tomorrow. 

I could get used to this.
